According to CBSE, students who have obtained total marks of 478 (out of 500) or higher in CBSE examination 2019 or 476 (out of 500) or higher in 2018 or 2017 are in top one percentile. Hence, all students (in Delhi Region) who have secured the above marks are eligible to apply for bonus points, as announced in JAC Information Brochure 2019.

B.Tech Admissions 2019 to various programs of IIIT-D will be done through Joint Admission Counselling, JAC-Delhi, and through IIIT-D admission process using UCEED rank (Only for some seats in CSD) and Class XII Marks (Only for some seats in CSSS). Details regarding the number of seats, eligibility, merit list and admission process are given in B.Tech admission brochure 2019. About the Institute
IIIT-D was created by an Act of Delhi Government in 2008. Since then it has gained a high degree of respect within the academic community, and is widely regarded as one of the top Institutions in the country for research and education in IT areas – in particular Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE), Applied Mathematics (AM), Computational Biology (CB), Social Sciences (SS), Design (DES) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Institute began with its first batch of 60 B.Tech students in 2008. Since then, it has come a long way with 65+ excellent faculty members. There are about 1700 students consisting of about 1200 B.Tech students, about 350 M.Tech students and about 170 PhD scholars. In a relatively short time, it has earned a good reputation in India and abroad for being a center of quality education and research and is regarded as one of the country’s leading institute for IT education and research. QS BRICS University Ranking has ranked IIIT-D, 48 in QS Ranking India, 2019 and 192 in BRICS Region, 2019. The institute is accredited by NAAC at A level and is also approved by UGC and AICTE.
Education and Placement
The Institute offers seven BTech programs – in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE), Computer Science and Applied Mathematics (CSAM), Computer Science and Design (CSD), Computer Science and Social Sciences (CSSS), Computer Science and Biosciences (CSB) and Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (CSAI). The Institute has established a strong research culture, focused research groups, and innovative education programs.

Induction Program
Incoming students will be invited to an induction program before the start of the program to help them transition from school to college. There will be fun activities to help the students bond with their seniors, Batch mates and programming familiarization sessions to gear them up for some coding. Expectation from Students
IIIT-D takes academics very seriously and expects all its students to do so. Each semester a student normally does about 5 courses, and each course has a workload of about 10 hrs/week. Hence a student should be ready to work hard – that indeed is the only way to learn.
