Application Process
Students will apply online at www.jacdelhi.nic.in w.e.f 1st July 2015 (Wednesday) or declaration of JEE Main (2015) results, whichever is later.
Note: Changes in Admission Process(if any) will be posted on IIITD website.
Admission Criteria
Admission to IIIT-Delhi will be based on the total marks obtained in Paper 1 of JEE Main 2015 and normalised score in Class 12th as provided by JEE (60% & 40% weightage respectively), and up to 10 bonus marks which will be given to candidates for achievements in various domains. Overall, the merit list will be based on sum of these three:
- Total marks obtained in Paper I in JEE Mains, coverted to base of 60
- Class XII normalized score, coverted to base of 40
- Bonus marks (if any): maximum of 10 marks
In case of a tie, the candidate with a higher rank in JEE Mains shall rank higher. In case there is still a tie, the candidate older in age shall rank higher.
For bonus marks, the criteria is:
- Olympiads. Indian National Olympiad in Informatics, Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology:
- 10 marks, if the student was selected for the summer training camp for selection of the final team for International Olympiad (i.e. IOITC, IMOTC, OCSC for Physics, Chemistry, or Biology);
Support Documents needed: Certificate/letter from organizers certifying this – IIIT-D will also verify this directly with organizers of the Olympiads - 6 marks, if the student qualified to appear in the National Level Exam for selection for the summer camp (i.e. INOI/INMO/INPhO/INChO/INBO).

- 10 marks, if the student was selected for the summer training camp for selection of the final team for International Olympiad (i.e. IOITC, IMOTC, OCSC for Physics, Chemistry, or Biology);
- Procon Junior programming contest:
- 10 marks for the medal winners

- 10 marks for the medal winners
- National Talent Search scholarship
- 6 marks if a student has won this scholarship. If a student gets this in a category, then he/she can only be considered in that category.
Support Documents needed: Certificate/grant letter
- 6 marks if a student has won this scholarship. If a student gets this in a category, then he/she can only be considered in that category.
- Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY)
- 6 marks if a student has qualified for this scholarship. If a student gets this in a category, then he/she can only be considered in that category.
Support Documents needed: Certificate of merit/grant letter
- 6 marks if a student has qualified for this scholarship. If a student gets this in a category, then he/she can only be considered in that category.
- Sports- If a student has represented a state in any sport in "priority discipline" (as per terminology used by SGFI), except Chess (as Chess is dealt with separately), in National School Games organized by a School Games Federation of India, under U19 or U17 category (girls or boys):
- 6 marks if the individual has received a Gold/Silver/Bronze medal or for participation.
Support Documents needed: Certificate for medal, or Certificate of participation issued by School Games Federation of India.
- 6 marks if the individual has received a Gold/Silver/Bronze medal or for participation.
- Chess-FIDE rating players:
- 10 marks for those whose FIDE rating is above 1800;
Support document needed: FIDE ID, Self-attested printout of list of international rated tournaments played as provided by FIDE through their official website. (Later participation certificates for these tournaments will have to be shown) - 6 marks for those whose FIDE rating is below 1800.
Support document needed: Same as above.
- 10 marks for those whose FIDE rating is above 1800;
- Culture:
- 6 marks for those Student who have received “Scholarship to Young Artistes“ given by Ministry of Culture, Government of India, or “Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme” given by Centre for Cultural Resources and Training Autonomous Body under the Aegis of Ministry of Culture, Government of India
Support Documents Needed: Scholarship sanction letter and certificate issued by Centre for Cultural Resources and Training, Govt of India.
- 6 marks for those Student who have received “Scholarship to Young Artistes“ given by Ministry of Culture, Government of India, or “Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme” given by Centre for Cultural Resources and Training Autonomous Body under the Aegis of Ministry of Culture, Government of India
Note: If a candidate has qualified for more than one category, he/she will get higher marks under any of the categories. Further, the score for all the above will be valid for two years.
Eligibility
- 80% or more marks in the aggregate and 80% or more in Mathematics in class XII from CBSE/ICSE/IB board or equivalent

If a board has more then five subjects for aggregate, then best five will be taken.

Relaxation for reserved categories:
- 10% for SC/ST
- 5% for CW
- 5% for PH
- 5% for OBC

- Age Criteria
- A candidate should be less than 25 years of age as on the first October 2015.
Reservation of Seats
The number of seats for the CSE & ECE programs starting in 2015 is 110 & 70 respectively, of which 85% are reserved for Delhi students (DEL) and 15% for outside Delhi (OD) students. One supernumerary seat is reserved for Kashmiri Migrants and twelve supernumerary seats are reserved for foreign nationals, NRI's, PIO's. The exact breakup of the reservation for SC/ST/OBC/etc, and certificates required to be produced in support of claim, as well as rules for converstion are given in the brochure.
