B.Tech. Admission 2012

 Admission for year 2012 is now over. Please check back early 2013 for next announcements. 

Starting from 2012, IIIT-Delhi is offering B.Tech. programs in both CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) and ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering). Details of the programs are given here.

Final List (11th August)

Interested candidates must come to Okhla campus (5th Floor Academic Building) not later than 10am on 13th August, 2012 (Monday) with original documents and DD for Rs.1,40,000/-. Seats will be allotted to the candidates as per the merit list among those who will be present at the stipulated date & time.

Extension of last date of withdrawal

  As the classes are starting from 13th August, last date of withdrawal with penalty (of Rs 25000) is extended to 9th Aug by 5.00 PM and for admission to 10th Aug by 5.00 PM

Orientation for new BTech students is on 6th August, 2012 and classes will start on 13th August, 2012.

Counselling

Common queries:

1. Whether the candidate placed in eligible list has to appear in the counselling either himself or through somebody else or is there no need of sending anybody for that?
   It is not compulsory for Outside Delhi candidates to be present for the counselling.
2. If counselling has to be attended somehow,is the DD also required?
   DD is only required if the seat is offered.

Notice:

• Forms for Delhi Candidates is closed, no calls / mails in this regard will be entertained. 
• Due to closure of HDFC banks on 10th June being Sunday last date for filling of online application form for Delhi Candidates is 11th June 2012 (1900 hrs)
• Due to declaration of AIEEE results on 10-June 2012 last date for Outside Delhi candidates for filling of online application form has been extended upto 20-June-2012 (1900 hrs)

Application Process

1. Make sure you are eligible as per details given.
2. Challan form can be downloaded for Delhi students here and for Outside Delhi students here.
3. For any queries related to HDFC bank please call Mr Pratyush (9350140180)
4. Take the print out of the challan form and fill it. Challan form has three copies:
   • To be attached with the form
   • Candidates copy
   • Will be retained by the bank
5. Deposit the fee through the challan form at the cash counter in any of the branches of HDFC bank. Receipt of admission fee in HDFC Bank will commence on 25th May, 2012 and will close on 10th June, 2012 (For Outside Delhi Date will be extended suitably on declaration of AIEEE results).
6. Challan number will be given by the cashier on deposit of fees. You cannot fill up the application form without this number.
7. OUTSIDE Delhi candidates are required to fill application form only after declaration of AIEEE results.
8. Fill up the online application form click here.
9. Take a print out of the form. (Photograph is not required to be pasted if the printed photograh on the form is clear.)
10. Send the print-out along with the institute challan copy at the address mentioned in admission brochure. Last date of receipt of the print-out is 10th June, 2012.

Reservation of Seats

The number of seats for the CSE & ECE programs starting in 2012 is 120 & 40 respectively, of which 85% are reserved for Delhi students and 15% for outside Delhi students. The Institute may increase the number of seats, based on recommendations of its Board, but any such increase will be announced before declaration of result of the entrance test. The exact breakup of the reservation is as under:

* Physically Handicapped (PH) - 3 percent of the total seats.

The 3 percent reservation will be allocated in the following order:

• 1 percent for persons with low vision or blindness.
• 1 percent for hearing impaired.
• 1 percent for those with loco motor disabilities and/or cerebral palsy.

** Children of War Widows of Defence Personnel Killed in Action/Disabled in Action (CW)

 5 percent of the total seats. The 5 percent reservation will be allocated in the following order:

• Widows/wards of defence personnel killed in action.
• Wards of serving personnel and ex-servicemen disabled in action.
• Widows/wards of defence personnel who died in peace time with death attributable to military service.
• Wards of defence personnel disabled in peace time with disability attributable to military service.
